No matter what the origin, lake, pond, river, stream, seawater, etc., intake water will be contaminated with a variety of suspended solids. In order to prevent fouling of equipment and ensure optimal efficiency, it is desirable to remove these suspended solids. In addition, increasingly stringent environmental regulations prevent the reintroduction of these suspended solids into the surface water source, even though they may have originated in the water source. As a result, the solids must be removed prior to discharge, and therefore, most users decide to filter the water prior to introducing it to the equipment.
An excellent solution to this problem is the ORIVAL filter. Installed as a full flow filtration system on the intake, it can protect the equipment by removing the majority of suspended solids. Due to the nature of most surface water and the high flow rates typically required, it may be necessary to install a bank of ORIVAL filters to provide sufficient screen area. |
