No matter what the origin: lake, pond, river, canal, stream, etc., source water will be contaminated with a variety of suspended solids. In order to prevent the fouling of nozzles and ensure optimum efficiency, it is desirable to remove these suspended solids.

An excellent solution to this problem is the Orival automatic self-cleaning screen filter. Installed as a full flow filtration system on the discharge of the supply pump, it can protect nozzles by removing all suspended solids that could cause clogging. For very dirty conditions and/or high flow rates a bank of Orival filters can be installed to provide sufficient screen area to meet water quality requirements.

Orival filters are used to control zebra mussels and quagga mussels by stopping shells, adults, veligers, larvae and eggs from passing beyond the point of filtration. This protects piping, valves, nozzles and other equipment from becoming clogged and impaired.
